computers in the classroom

I always think that all teachers should learn technology to use for their class. I am so lucky that I have been taking computer class. In the beginning of this class, I didn't know any programs, software or smart board, but after I took this class I learned many new technological tools. These tools will help me for my future classes, I am so excited to use smart board. Actually, I mostly like smart board, because it is very enjoyable and I am sure that students will both enjoy and learn something by using smart board. Moreover, I didn't have any idea about the google.doc and wikispace, however in this class, I learned  how to use them and how can I benefit from them. Thanks, nurdan...

Group Works

Almost every teachers use group works or pair works in their classroom, but this is sometimes good, sometimes bad for the students. Some students don't want to study and the others have to do all works. However, group works are very useful for the students, they can share their ideas with each others and they can share the works that they have to do. After I become a teacher, I will use the group work. If I have any problem with the groups, I will encourage them to do this. Because I know that they will learn so many things while they are working together. I learned many techniques for meeting  people online, I will teach these to my future students and want them to use these technological items :)
I know that our group couldn't be good at group work, I am sorry about this,  I believe that each of us tried to do something, but something went wrong...

unit plan

While we are creating this unit, I think, most of things haven't worked well. We had many problems; actually, when we met we studied very well, but we always have a problem about meeting time. Also, sometimes, I had a communication problem, so that I couldn't express myself correctly. But then, finally and hopefully we finished our first lesson. If I work on an integrated unit with other teachers, I will be very carefull about the study time, I will try to overcome some problems. This project thought me group working; if we have problem, how can we deal with it, and how can we study together. Moreover, I learned very useful webpages; google.doc., wikispace, elluminate,...etc. In the future, I will continue using these, they are very beneficial both for the students and for the teachers.

Lesson Plan 3

I was so confused that our lesson plans but this week we met our professor and she decided that we will make our lessons individually. This made me happy, because group work is really hard, sometimes nobody has a time to meet and if you meet, you can't decide what you will do. Now, I did lesson plan 3, almost done, but it needs to develop, and when I was doing my lesson plan, I really enjoyed, because it is multimedia lesson and there are many technological items in this lesson, for example, my students will do podcast and photostory with their fairy tales. My goals are teaching them both using technology and using English as a second language.

Elluminate Session

I think elluminate session is a great tool to use for education, as a teacher, you can reach every student, it doesn't matter where they are, it is enough that they have an internet. In our elluminate session, sometimes,I had so much fun, we could use whiteboard during the session and also, we could see our professor, who was moderator. I think it was very difficult to control us for her, she repeated all directions again and again and sometimes we had a technical problems such as sometimes we couldn't hear the sound and sometimes we couldn't see the screen that she showed us. I concentrated and followed all directions but because of these problems,sometimes  I missed the directions.
This was very interesting lesson that I have ever had, we could chat with our friends and we could listen our professor. In elluminate session, there were variety of tools that provided a vehicle for understanding to every students that participated in this sessions.

Let Kids Rule the School

The article "Let Kids Rule the School" written by Susan Engel is about an education and independent project. It says that students run their own education system and they prepare their own curriculum. And, also they choose whatever they want to study in high school and they teach it to others. Firstly, I read the article, it came to me very good idea, but then I thought that it is really hard to administer this system. I know that most of countries education system isn't good, including my country. They teach sometimes  very unnecessary subjects, rather than teaching something for real world. Therefore, students don't want to study and they are bored with the subjects. However, high school students don't know which subject is necessary for them, they can not choose correct subjects and I think most of them don't want to teach it to others. This is really difficult to apply for many students.
Maybe, it will be very good for some students, it is necessary to try this independent project and see what happens;)

Unit Plan

I am so confused about our lesson plan because I couldn't exactly comprehend how we will combine 3 lessons, actually we discuss and we have some idea and my group members always help me.
Our unit will be about fairy tails, I think it is very enjoyable topic and it can be perfect lesson. Almost every child knows at least one fairy tail, and they can share their fairy tails and ideas with their classmates. If they don't know any fairy tail, it is ok, because they will learn a few fairy tails in this lesson and they will comprehend what is fairy tail. Also, they can contrast with the real world and fairy tail world. Fairy tales help the students to extend their dream world.Moreover, fairy tails help the students to extend their thesaurus(vocabulary), thinking ability and it helps them to set up cause and effect relationship.We want to use fairy tails in our lessons because of the reasons that I mentioned.
"In what ways fairy tails help us to teach english as a second language" is my unit question and I think there are many ways.
